摘要:

Water distribution systems are critical infrastructure for every city and town. Efficient and accurate assessment of pipeline condition is essential to enable strategically focused asset maintenanceand mitigate risks of incidents, such as pipe bursts. The first part of the presentation presents the progress in the research of non-invasive pipeline leak detection and condition assessment undertaken by the research group led by Prof. Lambert at the University of Adelaide. The research focuses on the smart use of controlled hydraulic transient pressure waves and the analysis of the pressure responses of the pipeline system under test. The second part of the presentation introducesthe recent transient monitoring and analysis practice in the AdelaideCBD (central business area) water network. As part of the smart water network (SWN) initiative of South Australian Water, 20 pressure measurement stations have been installed for continuing transient pressure monitoring and transient source identification since December 2016.This presentation also includes a brief introduction of the research strength of theSchool where Prof. Lambert is based, and the study opportunities for international students at the University Adelaide.

Martin Lambert教授简介

Prof. Martin F. Lambert is currently Head of School and Professor of Water Engineering and Hydraulics in the School of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering (CEME) at the University of Adelaide. His research has focused on several aspects of water engineering related to stochastic hydrology and the use of fluid transients for the effective and efficient condition assessment of the aging engineered pipe infrastructure. Since starting at Adelaide University in June 1995, Prof. Lambert has developed several new research areas and received over $5 million in research funds mainly from the Australian Research Council.  He also has worked with industry while undertaking consulting projects in the water engineering area. He has taught a range of subjects in the School and has been awarded several prizes for teaching including the University Prize for Excellence in Higher Degree by Research Supervision in 2008 and an Australian Learning & Teaching Council citation in 2009.
